Terveen Gill is a versatile author and writer who has had the pleasure of growing up on two different continents. The twist at the end…crushing…but reflects real-life. This is such a well written and poignant tale. It’s so sad this occurs so often nowadays. Very well done, Terveen. 🙂
It is a sad state of affairs, Mike. I think awareness is important so that such unfortunate decisions don’t have to be made in the first place. Teenage years shouldn’t be bound by the duties of parenthood. But then, some may disagree. Thanks so much for your wonderful comment. 🙂

When I was 14 or 15, one of the girls in our grade got pregnant and there were so much denouncing and scolding in people’s judgement of her that I was very angry. How could people be so intolerant? People talked as if she’s a criminal. That’s just not right. It’s a natural thing happening to girls. And society was really cruel in treating girls so cruelly. I felt that adults were rather cruel in treating teenage girls so abominably. Actually people were not so intolerant in ancient time. There were plenty of incidents in historical books that when such things happen, certain solutions were found. Also in those days, people got married very young and teenage pregnancy was not treated so harshly.
Judgment often takes over and all teachings, learnings, and rectifications go to hell. I can understand what you’re saying. If only proper measures could be taken and communication could be enhanced, a lot of situations could be avoided or at least handled well. Times have changed but somehow awareness and compassion have been left behind…
