A burning letter to God seems the perfect way to vent frustration.

It’s filled with nasty truths that can’t be denied.

Placing human beings in a dismal light.

But what could be the real reason for writing? And who is the sender?

Dear God Almighty, I would like to bring to your notice my dissatisfaction with the world that you have created. I know that no one’s perfect and that you probably think so too. Though your children (insensitive human bastards) harp on about their flawless intelligence and impeccable logical reasoning. Please excuse my brashness, they wouldn’t […]

  1. Superb stuff, Terveen, as always. I left a comment over at Gobblers, but wanted to mention that this story has special meaning today here in the States as we go to the polls to determine if we’ll remain a democracy or fall to a bunch of fascist lunatics. Your story’s take on human nature is spot-on. Is there any hope left for us as a species? At least here in the States, I’ll have an answer to that after the polls close… Thanks for sharing, my friend.

        • Certainly. Both parties in the US are wicked. They are two heads feeding the same stomach. In my opinion, support of either side is a reflection of blind submission. But the use of fascist, nazi, commie, groomer, etc. from either side does nothing more than promote the division and hatred that people claim to be against. Which is why I felt compelled to respond to Mike’s comment.

          • Well said! Each claims to be different, but apparently, they’re only different branches sprouting from the same root. Thanks for sharing this.

    • I feel the sentiment behind your words, Mike. The world appears to be falling apart and thanks to everyone involved lacking logic, understanding, decency, and humility. If progress isn’t coupled with positive intent, then it’s just a free-for-all. I suppose people are so attuned to not using their brains that even when they want to, they don’t know how to. Hatred and subjugation are taking the lead in this doomed race. I appreciate your honest sharing. Hang in there. We must. 🙂

  2. Once again, Terveen, you have managed to get so many twists and turns in so few words. Is it a thank you letter? a deception? a job well done? (from the Devil). What is happening in the world today makes me feel there would not be a detention centre big enough to hold the callousness.

    • I can’t agree with you more, Davy. I believe even the Devil is confused. Now that’s saying a lot for the times we live in. Makes me angry and sad. Thanks for resonating the thoughts behind the words. 🙂

  3. Excellent write, Terveen. All so very true. It’s interesting to contemplate denial, and the space created when we wake up to reality. Empowering and action oriented this latter space. Happy week, my friend. 😊

    • Thank you so much, Jeff. I agree with you but in reality, not many wake up. And that’s a dismal prospect. You have a great week too and wish you the best always. 🙂

  4. Haha, it is the devil who writes this. LOL. That’s pretty funny. It is quite a surprise and yet it is the reasonable outcome considering the place the devil is living in right now.

  5. half way through I knew what was coming but it is still a devilishly clever piece; the only piece that I can recall that is anything likeit is The Stones’ ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ from ‘Beggars Banquet’ ’68, another devilishly clever piece 🙂
