Corners attract me. It’s been like this since I was five. Being punished became my sole motive in life. Bad boy! Go stand in the corner! The first time I cried, but soon realized that corners are much more than they are made out to be. There’s a peace in that tiny space. It’s also […]

  1. There are so many ebbs and flows in this excellent piece of writing, Terveen. I am sure he will find the right ‘kind of corner’ girl in the end.

    • Haha! Thanks a million, Davy. I hope there is a corner girl waiting for him in some blessed corner. Never say never… 🙂

  2. This is a fun story with another memorable character. You excel at great characters, Terveen. This sort of hits home for me. I was born, raised and currently reside in the Four Corners area of the U.S., where four states (Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico) all share a common point. Back in 1995, I moved 1,200 miles away to Salem, Oregon. Guess which part of Salem I found my apartment located? Yup–the Four Corners section of Salem. Jeez, these things follow me around like meerkats (if meerkats followed me around, that is.). Can’t wait to see what you have next for us to experience! 🙂

    • Now, that’s a great story, Mike. I had no idea about this. Could you have somehow been a silent influence for this story? I guess vibes and energies often flow and we pick up on those and incorporate them into our professional and personal lives. Creativity is contagious. I really like meerkats. They’re so cute. Sending meerkat vibes your way. Haha! Thanks so much and appreciate your kind support. Take care and keep inspiring! 🙂

  3. I am a bit of a corner girl myself, great story Terveen. I left my comment at the end, excellent. Your stories always have a bit of a surprise and usually something that makes me laugh. In the end I thought, yea, that sounds a bit like me. haha Great piece! Big hugs, Joni

    • Thanks so much, Joni. With your positive and lovely energy, I’d want you to be at the center always. And I hope that I can keep the surprises coming. They make me happy too. Will be in touch with you soon. 🙂

      • You are always so kind Terveen. I am honestly a bit of a corner girl, and related to your story. I push myself though which is a good thing. Blessings to you and hope you are enjoying your Saturday night. Big hugs 🤗 ❤️

  4. This was remarkably entertaining and had such a great characterisation! Well-rounded people seem to be so rare these days, but so do the corner-guys! That’s a paradox right there! Brilliant writing, Terveen! As always.😁👏👏

    • HAHA! Thanks for recognizing that, Aaysid. I really appreciate it and look for the corner guys in the future. They probably outnumber the well-rounded ones. OUCH! 🙂

  5. Wonderful write, Terveen. I left a longer comment on Masticadores. This one resonated in a couple different ways. 😊

  6. Oh, this is so symbolic. I mean I have witnessed so many instances for which people back themselves into a corner and can’t get out. Love, for example, is one of these things. People are cornered by love and can’t seem to find an exit.

    • You are so right, Haoyan! Cornered by love. There are plenty who suffer from this. I guess being without love is a tragic option for so many. Just pretend and bear it. Even more tragic. 🙂
