Some of you might be smirking at the title. Women and QUIET?
Now that’s an OXYMORON!!

No, I’m not calling an ox a moron…I mean oxymoron. It means contradiction; women and quiet…complete opposites of each other…because apparently women can never be quiet…get it?

Never Mind! The joke is already RUINED.

Women, often portrayed as the fairer sex, or the weaker sex, but definitely not the bleaker sex, are intelligent, emotional and highly intuitive beings.

They have been around since the beginning of time, and have been giving men a run for their money.

Oh Wow! Run for their money…another joke to laugh at…HAHA!

Get it? Because women are often portrayed as running after a man’s money…

Aren’t there a lot of jokes regarding a woman’s thoughts, habits, feelings, and actions?

Okay…THERE are many jokes regarding men and their peculiarities.

Chauvinism, sloppiness, insensitivity, manners, and the best of all…a man’s state of utter helplessness, and the suffering he endures when he is subjected to listening to a woman harp on and on about this or about that.

If it’s talking, it must be a woman.
If the story is endless, a woman must be telling it.
If the gossip is juicy and irresistible, then a woman is definitely spreading it.
Gabbity-gab-gab-Gab-GAB-GABBBB!!!

On and on and on, as the wheel of time turns, a woman’s words churn.

There can never be an ounce of quiet when women are around to create a ruckus and riot!

But what if women were to GO QUIET…Shhhh…absolute silence…

Would that sound the alarm bells? Could it be interpreted as the lull before a storm? Or should it be looked upon as a prayer answered by God Almighty for Global peace and quiet?

Women, often labeled as verbose and loud, and masters of talking with their hands, (as if one tongue wasn’t enough…) can enter the zone of silence without any warning, and prior explanation.

Let’s talk through…I MEAN…walk through some situations that render women utterly silent.

1) SHE’S SAVING YOU FROM A WORDY DEATH

women

2) SHE’S TIRED OF REPEATING HERSELF FOR THE 134TH TIME

women

3) SHE’S HOPING GOD STRIKES YOU WITH SOME SENSE

women

4) SHE’S NOT EVEN LISTENING TO YOU

women

5) SHE’S WONDERING WHY SHE DIDN’T STUDY ROCKET SCIENCE

women

6) SHE’S RESTING BEFORE ROUND TWO

women

7) SHE’S TOO HURT TO REACT

women

Women ARE and always will be sensitive to the needs of others. They’ll put their families and friends ahead of themselves, and won’t even bat an eyelid doing so. Suppressing their own feelings and fears, women will bear and support the greatest difficulties without a sigh or sound. Like a strong yarn, they are knitted into the lives of so many souls around them.

They’ll laugh with you, cry with you, and even watch the night sky with you.

They listen to you without WORDS.

They comfort you without WORDS.

They trust you without WORDS.

They support you without WORDS.

They help you without WORDS.

So whenever they’re babbling, chattering, prattling, jabbering, rambling, yapping, or gabbling, just LET THEIR WORDS dance to a rhythm divine!

  1. This is a great post and I happened to read it on time today as last night I’d thought, I think I am talking too much, talking so much detail that are lessons more for myself to hear/emphasize.And I will try quietness tomorrow.
I enjoyed this view on some of our stereotypes of men & women. 🙂 🙂

    • Hi Jade!
Thank you so much for reading and commenting. Women are truly navigating life with so many responsibilities to shoulder. At times, silence is simply bliss for some self-reflection. I always try to add some humor to my writing. Life can’t always be too serious and heavy. 🙂

  2. Very good!
If you are ever in Dorset, you should celebrate your splendid post with a visit to a pub called The Silent Woman near Wareham.
    That would be appropriate. Shhhhh!

    • Haha! Thank you so much for this snippet of information. I will definitely take a look and silently ponder upon the implications. Hic! I appreciate the wonderful comment, Lance. 🙂
