I WRITE BECAUSE…
This was the theme of Simply Shobana’s Poetry Contest.
For any writer or poet, it’s a question that makes one dive beneath layers of skin, muscle, thought, emotion, and hurt.
Ah HURT! It’s a painful word but the driving force behind many creative endeavors.
How can one deny this wondrous fact?
And diving at the opportunity, I submitted my words, a poem, on why I write and what the craft of writing means to me.
The winners were announced today, and I am overjoyed to share that I am one of them.

It’s a great feeling to express, but even a better feeling to impress.

“Ah HURT! It’s a painful word but the driving force behind many creative endeavors.” That’s so true. Pain makes us more alive. I mean certain amount of pain and not too much to make us despair. Life is a quest. LOL.
Yes, pain should never debilitate a person. Then it’s just a distraction and makes the simple and easy things even harder. Pain should inspire one to move forward no matter what. That’s the birth of resilience, a great power.
